Today’s blog focuses on the recent changes that I made to my daughter’s bedroom/guest room. This small makeover has been in the making for 6 months. The sudden motivation to work on my daughter’s room was brought on my recent diagnosis of needing a hip replacement. With that in tow I decided to make her room more accessible for the visitors who will be coming to help care for my family and I.
The image above is courtesy of me and the lack of organization. lol
Mariah is now able to go into her room and play, she doesn’t require the hands on supervision and she is free to play however she wishes. This process definitely took me a few days because every time I put something up she would go behind me and take it back out. (lol)
She really is enjoying her new space because she can actually see all of the toys that she owns, which is so exciting for her. I do suggest that if you want your toddler to play with their learning material that you get a laminate material to cover the cards or books. You will be really happy if you did this because it will prolong the life of their educational material. I also used a laminate plastic to cover her artwork for her art wall. (no image available-still in the works!)
The image below shows the improvements to her room, there is more to her makeover but I wanted to give you guys a little sample.
The plastic storage bins in the above image was purchased from the local dollar tree. The rug was purchased from a store called 5 Below, which is officially one of my top favorite stores to get cool house or out door supplies for under 5 bucks.
This entire room makeover was literally under $20 and I am so glad that my daughter has a space that she can call her own. This is her first bedroom that she actually has a chance to enjoy, especially since we moved from our Georgia home before she was 12 months old. I definitely am not finished with the makeover, but this is a one day at a time project. So if you are looking towards doing a makeover for your child’s room you can refer to Pinterest for inexpensive ideas.
So I am going to leave you with this, anything is possible if you just believe.
P.S. Always be open to change and improvement.
